HDI Announces the Release of Fusion CAC™
Computer-Assisted Coding Solution

HDI announces the release of a new coding product that integrates with 3M’s Encoder application to significantly streamline the coding process for both in-patient and out-patient settings. Fusion CAC (Computer-Assisted Coding) is now available to Midwestern health-care providers exclusively through HDI Technologies, Inc.

To validate the performance of Fusion CAC, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Jersey, checked codes for more than one month and found no discrepancies that required coding revisions. Now, with the process automated, coding for out-patient records has been included. Out-patient coding went from ninety (90) seconds to less than point-five (.5) seconds a record.

In a short period of time, in-patient coding had improved significantly. As the application reviews the entire record for the coder, it highlights the words and automatically puts the codes associated with those words on the screen to allow the user to check the words against the codes. The user is no longer required to read the entire report, decide the most appropriate code, and then enter that code into the encoder.

Fusion CAC is a powerful new technology that significantly compresses the time required for the coding process. I would like to schedule a time to introduce this technology to you in the near future.
