Simplifies the Dictation Process

Crescendo's Windows based MD Center-XL enables authors to no longer be dependent on manual distribution of documents; they can now review and electronically release transcribed reports, directly from their desktop PCs. Through secure login access and individual privileges, timely access to patient information is available on the network or from a remote location.

MD Center-XL features an easy to read user interface and a clear main menu to access all required system functions. Before making a selection, the author is automatically notified of the number of pending reports. MD Center-XL has been designed to allow for a dual signature or co-sign option for those situations where more than one author may need to sign off a report before final distribution. Automatic Faxing

CSCFax Server is Windows based and can be easily integrated with MedRite-XL. The fax option resides on a dedicated PC on the network and supports up to four simultaneous ports, handling the most demanding of needs. The fax management console is easily accessed from within MedRite-XL, directly from any network computer. The console provides real-time display of progress and pending tasks, and allows jobs to be cancelled or priorities to be changed. The system supports up to ninety-nine priority levels definable by report type.

Any MedRite-XL user with appropriate privileges can send a fax at any time. Fax requests can be issued when viewing existing reports, even directly from the transcription screen. Multiple reports can be highlighted and then sent to one location. The system can optionally create a fax cover sheet, filling in the appropriate information.

Automatic fax distribution is integrated into the system. This software enables group faxing of reports based upon client profiles such as preferred time of day. Consolidated faxing speeds up fax distribution, so when transmitting a report, the system looks for other pending faxes and consolidates by location therefore reducing time and cost.

Client-Server Technology

The Crescendo Wide Area Service (CWAS) module provides a gateway to the centralized system, ensuring that transcriptionists have access to all dynamic data and that transcribed reports are immediately available to healthcare professionals. This open system approach offers a truly effortless installation and maintenance environment that is scalable to all needs.

With this revolutionary approach to transcription, CWAS users access all commonly used data locally on their computers, such as their speed-typing library, templates and spelling dictionary, which are updated on each connection. All the typing is done on the PC, eliminating data exchange and screen refresh cycles commonly experienced with low bandwidth connections or expensive thin client servers. All sensitive data and frequently changing data is maintained by the central database. When the CWAS user needs such data, a request is automatically placed to the CWAS server and the matching results are returned. The effect of this approach is improved productivity on even the slowest of connections.

CWAS uses standard PC and hardware components, ensuring a non-proprietary solution. The required IP to IP connection can be established through the Internet, Intranet, or a RAS type connection. Almost any bandwidth speed can be supported, starting at 33 Kbps and including ADSL and broadband speeds. CWAS has been designed to easily adapt to current industry standard security technologies, including virtual private networks, firewall security and encryption algorithms. Since all transcriptionists are connected to the network, the remote transcription process is simplified and the workflow remains unchanged. A remote transcriptionist can now type seamlessly, connecting one day on the network, and the next day from home, without any changes being made to their profile from the system administrator. The remote transcriptionist can even access reports previously transcribed by others, to add addendums or to search for information for reference purposes. And because CWAS uses a global platform, transcriptionists can now be set up from anywhere in the world to use CWAS with MedRite-XL to transcribe reports.

CWAS also affords the system managers real-time reporting and statistics. Connections and monitoring processes are available from any desktop. Remote control of the transcriptionist's PC provides for easy troubleshooting, training and quality assurance. An instant chat facility that allows the transcriptionist to exchange comments and questions is also incorporated into this exciting and unique product.

Eliminates Need for a Voice Port

With DigiDictate-IP, the voice is streamed to Crescendo Wide Area Service (CWAS), ensuring that all sensitive data is maintained on the server. DigiDictate-IP uses almost any connection to allow both real-time and off line dictation. It is designed to automatically determine the best method for sending voice files to the main dictation pool.

All the user friendly features of DigiDictate-PC, are incorporated into the new IP version. For instance, data can be captured such as subject ID and facility, and authors can even suspend dictation or mark certain jobs as priorities. Authors can actually "view" what is being dictated. In other words, visual cues simplify searching for dictation, inserting new dictation, the author's position during playback, and more. DigiPlayer-IP is a client-server based application that takes advantage of the inherent benefits of IP to IP connections.

Real-time Voice Streaming

This real-time application is designed to play voice over almost every connection typ using Internet Protocol. The software connects through the Crescendo Wide Area Service (CWAS) for secure access to the dictation jobs, thus eliminating the need to tie up a dictation port. Once a transcriptionist requests a job, the specific dictation voice begins streaming to the local PC and becomes immediately available for playback without waiting for the complete download.
